Materials and Application Characteristics of Banded V-Belt
A banded V-belt is a combination of multiple V-belts joined together, primarily used in high-load and high-impact transmission systems. Its unique design effectively prevents belt jumping or flipping during operation, thereby enhancing transmission efficiency and stability.
Material Selection
The main materials of banded V-belts include:
1. Rubber Material: Commonly made from chloroprene rubber (CR) or ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). Chloroprene rubber offers excellent oil and heat resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature and complex environments. EPDM provides outstanding weather and ozone resistance, making it ideal for outdoor and harsh conditions.
2. Reinforcement Layer (Cord Layer): Made from polyester or aramid fibers (such as Kevlar) to enhance tensile strength and wear resistance, preventing belt elongation and deformation.
3. Fabric Cover Layer: Typically made from wear-resistant fabric or special coated materials, improving the belt’s impact resistance and friction tolerance, thus extending its service life.
